Hi doctor! I really need your advice. In fact, before I went to bed I had been throwing up during the whole day. The day before I had eaten commercial food; meaning I went to eat to Telepizza, a pizza business that makes rubbish food, with my friends. Even though it's really harmful or your health, I was very hooked on it. However, I think my malaise is due to the rubbish food, even if i don't really know the cause. What should I do? I can't continue throwing up...
In addition to vomiting, I feel a kind of burning sensation or pain in
the area between my chest and belly button. This pain is even more intense when my stomach is empty and it can last for a few minutes or several
hours. I don't want to eat because of the pain and it improves when I drink and take antacids also. I have also lost weight.
Here's the illness:

HEALTH SYSTEM & HEALTHY LIFESTYLE INFORMATION
In this term, Ander and I are going to do a Weebly presentation about health system and healthy lifestyle. We firstly chose the topic healthy lifestyle. However, we noticed that it was too simple and easy to do an explanation about it. So we decided to add something new: healthy system. This topic is what we are going to speak about although we are gong to comment something about healthy lifestyle.
I have to say that this entry is a kind of brainstorm to organie the information that then will appear in the Weebly. As a result, I recommend not reading it at all because you'll get bored!

Public Healthcare
The Heath Card is the necessary and sufficient documentation required to gain access to the health services provided by the Department of Health.
To obtain a Health Card the applicant must be registered in a municipality of the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country.
Application process:
Applications for Health Cards are dealt with by the Customer Attention Areas of the Osakidetza-Basque Health Service Centres.
The application documentation must be accompanied by the following documents:
- Copy of the identification document of the applicant (National ID Card (DNI), family book, passport or similar).
- A certificate or note showing registration in a municipality in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country.
- A Health Card from the Community of origin, if it is due to a change of address.
Private Healthcare
Those wishing to receive private
healthcare can take out health insurance in their country of origin
which covers Spain or use any private medical company established in the
Basque Country.
The following is a short list of the main companies:
- Igualatorio Médico Quirúrgico (IMQ) www.imq.es

Emergencies
A health emergency is an extremely serious situation in which the life of the patient is at risk.
In the event of a health emergency, with imminent danger to life, please call 112.
Health is a basic element in the quality of life and a priority for the citizens. For that reason, since the creation of Osakidetza -the Basque Health Service– in 1984,investment in health has been one of the foundations of social policy in the Basque Country, and particularly in Bizkaia.
We should not forget that annual spending on public healthcare per inhabitant in the three historic territories of the Basque Country is among the highest in the world.
In terms of its social healthcare situation, the Basque Country is divided into three health provision areas that correspond to each of the historic territories. So, Osakidetza guarantees the suitable organisation of primary healthcare in Araba, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa that is coordinated with specialist healthcare.
The Basque Health Service comprises:
– 7 healthcare districts, 131 Primary Care Units, and 320 health centres for primary care.
– 12 Acute Care Hospitals and 4 Mid to Long Stay Hospitals in terms of hospital care.
-4 psychiatric hospitals, 5 integrated psychiatric units in Acute Care Hospitals, and 3 non-hospital mental health areas for the discipline of mental health.
Osakidetza is also in charge of coordinating emergency care and healthcare in emergency situations.
This body also integrates the Basque Transfusion and Human Tissue Centre, and Osatek, the public institution responsible for managing, administering and running high-tech imaging services.
The Basque Autonomous Community has become the autonomous community with the best health services after surpassing Navarre, which used to occupy this position, and has the highest budget per capita in the country, 1,548 Euros in 2014.
These data appear in the Report on the Health Services of the Autonomous Communities prepared by the Federation of Associations in Defence of Public Healthcare, according to which the Basque Country is followed by Navarre and Aragon in the ranking, although the report underlines that in the last year the “general deterioration” of the services has continued due to the “cuts” in public health funding.
The study concludes that the best services are offered by the Basque Country, which ranks higher than Navarre, and these autonomies are followed by Aragon and Asturias.
Health services are fair in Castile and Leon, Cantabria, Galicia, La Rioja and Andalusia and poor in Madrid, Murcia, Baleares, Castile-La Mancha and Extremadura.
The worst are those in the Canary Islands and Valencia, just like in the last six years, followed by Catalonia, a community which has moved back four positions and ranks fifteenth, down from the fifth position it occupied in 2009.
Likewise, the weight of private healthcare is greater in some regions than in others and Madrid, Catalonia, Valencian Community and Balearic Islands head the ranking in this regard.
The study comprises parameters per community such as waiting lists, expenditure per capita, number of beds and professionals, number of operating theatres, cesarean sections and CAT-type tests, pharmaceutical expenditure or the opinion of the citizens.
As for the health budget per capita in 2014, the highest is in the Basque Country (1,548.34 Euros) as opposed to Andalusia (1,004.32 Euros) whereas the highest number of Primary Care doctors per 1,000 inhabitants is in Navarre (2.34) and the lowest in Andalusia (1.54).
The opinion of the citizens is also reported and there are considerable differences between communities with regard to the percentage of people who are satisfied with the Health System, ranging from 7.18 % in Navarre to 5.55 % in the Canary Islands.
Osakidetza (Servicio Vasco de Salud/Basque Health System) is the public healthcare system of the Basque Country, a region located in the north of Spain. Osakidetza was created by the Health Department of the Basque Government in 1983. All the public hospitals and primary care of the Basque Region are under this organization.
The Basque Health System includes 14 hospitals, more than 100 primary care clinics organised through four different geographical areas, apart from the Mental Health Centres, Emergencies and Basque Transfusions and Human Tissue Centre. More than 30.000 professionals work for Osakidetza, which could be considered the biggest organization of the Basque Country.
Osakidetza has a target population of more than 2 million inhabitants. It is estimated that in 20 years, 26% of the Basque population will be older than 65 years old, so this epidemiological pattern requires the improvement of the management of chronic diseases. In the last 15 years, the prevalence of chronic patients has increased remarkably all over the region, so actions related to the patient empowerment through e-Health tools are considered a big challenge for the region.
Mental Health Services in the Basque Country are based on the community care model which (i) promotes integration and standardisation of mental health care services, (ii) gives support and facilitates social integration and normalisation of the affected population and (iii) endorses coordination of social and health cares.
Mental health Services consist of three regional networks with 4 psychiatric hospitals (777 beds), two contracted long-term mental hospitals and several mental health centres in close collaboration with Primary Care. Mental Health Services in the Basque Country consist of departments and functions across the three provinces of the Autonomous Basque Community. The portfolio of services offered by the Mental Health Department covers general psychiatry (mild and severe health disorders), child-adolescent psychiatry and specific services such as alcoholism, compulsive gambling and drug addiction. The existing services are oriented to face a wide range of disorders such depression, schizophrenia, panic disorder, psychosis, eating and sleeping disorders and suicidal tendencies.
QUESTIONNAIRE
If you answered "yes" to between one and four questions then you have a lot of room for improvement in your lifestyle. Look at the pattern of your answers to find out where you are not concentrating on good health. If you feel unable to make changes yourself, ask an adult or professional to help you.
Visit your local library for more information, or scour the Internet for sites that you trust and implement some of their tips. But make changes soon, before your unhealthy lifestyle has any lasting consequences.
If you answered "yes" to between five and eight questions then you have a fairly healthy lifestyle. However, you can never take your good health too seriously. Try to target a few areas in which you can improve and think up a few easy changes that you can make in your daily life. It may be as easy as going to bed an hour earlier or switching from candy to fruit as your afternoon snack. Whatever it is, dedicate yourself to making changes and celebrate when you do!
If you answered "yes" to nine or more of these questions then you have a healthy lifestyle. For optimal health, work on any topic to which you answered "no". Lucky for you there does not seem to be many areas on which to concentrate. But while you obviously take care of yourself well, for the brightest future you must look after all areas of your physical and emotional health. If you find that you are unable to identify areas of change yourself, consider asking a trusted adult or a health professional for guidance.

LIFESTYLE AND ALTERNATIVES NEW
Today I'm going to show you a curious lifestyle new. It's about the use of our mobile phone. Nowadays, everyone has a mobile phone and we're becoming more and more dependant. Someones say that some people wouldn't be able to live without the smartphone. Are them good for our health? You will see it in this fantastic new:
Study finds smartphones not useful in helping adolescents maintain weight loss
Teens use smartphones successfully to do almost anything: learn new skills, communicate with friends, do research and catch Pokémon. But a new study finds smartphones aren't as useful for helping teens maintain weight loss.In a 24-week behavioral study that combined traditional weight control intervention with smartphone-assisted helps, researchers found that teens lost weight initially, but couldn't maintain it when smartphones were the only tool helping them stay on track.
"We know that teens are on their phones, which gives us a way to intervene in the moment," said lead author and BYU psychology professor Chad Jensen. "We wanted to determine whether we could effectively use texting and a commercially-available smartphone app to help adolescents with weight loss."
The study, published in the Journal of Medical Research took place during two consecutive 12-week periods, the first of which combined electronic (smartphone) intervention and traditional in-person treatment. During this period, each of the 16 participants met weekly with a clinician and other participants to share their experiences and discuss topics like adopting healthy eating patterns, reading food labels and increasing physical activity throughout the day. In addition to these meetings, the teens were encouraged to record their daily food intake and exercise on the Daily Burn app. They also received text messages from the researchers three times each day to encourage healthy behavior and pose thought-provoking questions about motivations.
Study participants achieved modest weight loss during this period, decreasing their BMI by 0.08 points on average.
But the in-person meetings were removed for the second 12 weeks of the study, so the only interventions helping the teens stay motivated were the daily texts and self-monitoring on the Daily Burn app. During this period, self-monitoring rates dropped from nearly 50 percent to 16.8 percent and the teens regained their lost weight.
http://www.news-medical.net/news/20161020/Study-finds-smartphones-not-useful-in-helping-adolescents-maintain-weight-loss.aspx
In my opinion, this is a very actual topic and it's important to show the disadvantages of the mobile phone despite the fact that it is very useful and innovative.

EARTH
Hello every body! Today, I'm going to write about my presentation.
This has been a work that we've done this term. It has been an exciting experience; but it's true that it isn't an easy work and it can create some nerves in your body.
I had to do a presentation about Earth and its tectonics. I made the presentation like a story, in fact, I firstly explained the earth beginnings and then, I started with the different periods of the Earth formation. After the different periods I concluded with tectonics: the history of the super continents, the nowadays situation and the different types of boundaries.
Here is the hole presentation. I hope you'll enjoy it:
EARTH
As we know, the Earth is the only planet that can support life. This is an amazing fact, considering that it was formed at the same time and trough the same
process as the other planets in the Solar System.
Earth began to form from the same cloud (mostly composed of hydrogen and helium) that formed our sun, the Solar System and even our galaxy. In fact, Earth is still forming and cooling, and it will be in the future.
The sun formed within a cloud of dust and gas that continued to shrink in upon itself by its own gravitational forces. This caused it to undergo the fusion process and give off it light, heat and other type of radiation.
As we know, they are eight and they move around the sun because of gravity forces. If gravity didn't exist, they would move in a straight line in the universe.
Coming back to the Earth, I'm going to continue with the Earth formation. The Earth went through a catastrophic and intense period of formation. This period is called the Pre-Cambrian period and it's divided into three shorter periods: the Hadean, the Archean and the Proterozoic period.
By the Hadean period, Earth was continuously bombarded by asteroids, meteors and comets until it formed into a solid sphere.
As Earth began to take solid form, it had no free oxygen in its atmosphere. Its first atmosphere was also so poisonous, comprised of helium and hydrogen, that nothing would have been able to survive.
Earth's second atmosphere was composed mostly of gases like nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide, argon and other types of gases that were formed by the constant volcanic eruptions that happened during this time. It had also no free oxygen.
By the Archean, the Earth’s surface — or crust — began to cool and stabilise, creating the solid surface with its rocky terrain. Clouds formed as the Earth began to cool, producing enormous volumes of rainwater that formed the oceans.
During this period, first life began to appear and the world’s landmasses began to form. Earth initial life forms were bacteria, which could survive in the highly toxic atmosphere that existed during this time.
Toward the end of the Archean and at the beginning of the Proterozoic period, oxygen-forming photosynthesis began to occur. The first fossils were a type of blue green algae that could photosynthesise.
Some of the most exciting events in Earth’s history and life occurred during this time. The continents began to form and stabilise, creating the super continent Rodinia . Although Rodinia is composed of some of the same land fragments as the more popular super continent, Pangea, they are two different super continents.
Rodinia is thought to have broken up into eight smaller continents. Some of them were called Laurentia, Australia and East Antarctica.
The eight continents later re-assembled into another 'supercontinent' called Pangea. During the formation of this super continents, mountains were formed. For instance, the Urals of nowadays were formed during this time.
Nowadays, we have eight major plates. They are constantly moving and they are situated in the lithosphere. when they hit each other we can have three type of boundaries:
Free oxygen began to build up around the middle of the Proterozoic Period and made way for the emergence of life as we know it today. This increased oxygen created conditions that would not allow most of the existing life to survive and thus made way for the more oxygen-dependent life forms.
By the Holocene period, in the Cambrian Period and also known as the Age of Man, first human species were discovered. But I have to finish here...
Here you have two videos: the first one is more impressive and the second one explains better the tectonics situation of nowadays.
Some about the subject:
1. What type of boundaries can happen?
2. What were the first life forms?
3. Why do the planets of the Solar System move around the sun?
4. In which period of formation do the continents start to form?

WOMEN AND SCIENCE
Why all or almost all the famous scientists are men? Why is the presence of women in science much more smaller than men's?
As we know, some times ago women were illiterate and their only work was to look after the children and be at home. For that reason, the presence of men in science has been much higher. But since women were allowed to have studies, the situation has changed. First women scientists started to appear such as Emilie du Chatelet (1706 – 1749), Caroline Herschel (1750 – 1848), Mary Anning (1799 – 1847) or just the most famous one: Marie Curie (1867 – 1934). But in my opinion, the situation still hasn't changed a lot. In fact, science remains institutionally sexist. Nowadays, despite some progress, women scientists are still paid less, promoted less frequently, win fewer grants and are much more likely to leave research than similarity qualified men. Moreover, despite the fact that our society sais that there is equality, we are not conscious of some facts, and there are lots of more topics rather than science.
Emilie du Chatelet (1706 - 1749) appears in the first picture in the left side. She was a French natural philosopher, mathematician, physicist, and author during the early 1730s until her untimely death due to childbirth in 1749.
Caroline Herschel (1750 - 1848). She was a German astronomer, whose most significant contributions to astronomy were the discoveries of several comets.

ASTRONOMERS
Hi every body!
I'm very glad to write this post about the similarities and the differences between two of the most important scientists in science's history and even in humans history: Galileo Galilei and Isaac Newton. In fact, their innovative laws and predictions have changed our life. But, are we really conscious of what they have done? And do we really know the relationship between them, meaning the differences and similarities between them?
For a start, I'll describe the laws of each scientist. Galileo stated that the experiment was superior to logic in uncovering natural laws. In addition, he showed that moving things, once in motion, stay in motion without the use of forces (called inertia). On the other hand, Newton stated the 3 Laws of Motion:
1- Every body continues in motion in a straight line unless compelled to change by forces impressed upon it. Actually, Galileo first formulated this, but Newton recast it.
2- Every change of motion is proportional to the force impressed and is made in the direction of the straight line in which that force is impressed.

2- Every change of motion is proportional to the force impressed and is made in the direction of the straight line in which that force is impressed.
3- For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
Moreover, putting these laws together, he stated the Law of Universal Gravitation, which means that the gravitational attraction between two bodies decreases rapidly as the distance between them increases.
This discoveries are considered two of the most important in science and they are completely different.
This discoveries are considered two of the most important in science and they are completely different.
On the other hand, those scientists have some things in common. Actually, the ideas of both were very different than the status equo. They also challenged conventional wisdom and stood up for their beliefs. Furthermore, as I said before, Newton supported his laws of Motion on the cinematic theory developed by Galileo, who took ideas from the causality principles developed by Aristotle. So, we can see certain connection between these ideas, this is, the relationship between the most important scientists in the history.
Finally, it's important to say that Galileo's contributions changed but not whole lot. Newton added to his work with his laws of motions. However, Newton's contributions never changed and they never will. To sum up, I think that these scientists have been so important in science and human evolution and we should show our gratitude for their innovative laws and discoveries.

SCIENCE AND MASS MEDIA
Hello! Here we've got some interesting scientific news. They are taken from different websites. I hope you enjoy it!
http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/
This is a very useful website where we can find a lot of information about science. In addition, it has other types of sections such as politics, lifestyle, sports... as we can see in the picture:
This website is as useful as the one before, but it only contains information about science, in general.
Here we can see another website which contains a very interesting information. In this case, I've extracted a very striking new ,this is, a new that attracted my attention: they say that there are a wide range of mosquitoes that could infect both zika and chikungunya in North America.
After the scientific news, I'm going to show you some TV, radio or magazine scientific programmes and sections:
Nowadays, scientific TV programmes are becoming more and more popular. In today's society, some questions about astronomy, biology, geology... science, are being asked in general. That's why we've got channels which only show us science and more science. For instance, Discovery Max, National Geographic...
I have to say that I'm interested in some of the scientific TV or radio programmes and magazine sections. So I'll try to show you some of them:
- National Geographic (magazine):
It was created in 1888, 128 years ago. It was the first science magazine in the world. Its interests include geography, archaeology and natural science, the promotion of environmental and historical conservation, and the study of world culture and history. The magazine is published monthly, and additional map supplements are also included with subscriptions.
It's also famous for its cover.
It is a very interesting TV show, where they show how can a product be made in a factory. Discovery Channel broadcasts this interesting programme.
